Exploring Zurich and playful learning with kids: myclimate Audio Adventure

Sometimes, it can be a challenge for parents to explain an “adult” topic to their children clearly and playfully and also to motivate them to want to be more interested in the topic themselves. This is where myclimate Audio Adventure Zurich comes in! With this tour, children will naturally immerse themselves in the adventurous story of the Zurich Central Station lizard or the schoolgirl Mia, which will not only entertain them but also subtly introduce them to issues related to climate protection. Through a narrated story, the audio guide leads them to think about how the world around them works entertainingly while showing them that they, too, can be part of the solution. Myclimate Audio Adventure Zurich is the perfect choice for a family outing that will both entertain and educate.

What is myclimate Audio Adventure?

Myclimate Audio Adventure is an educational audio guide combined with a city tour. The main themes are sustainability and climate protection, presented in an entertaining way. The route is about 8 kilometers long and will take about 2.5 hours. The route starts at Zurich Main Station.

How does myclimate Audio Adventure work?

Just download the izi.TRAVEL app to your mobile or tablet and search for the route myclimate Audio Adventure Zürich – Jugendgeschichte (ab 11 Jahren) or Audio Adventure Zürich – Jugendgeschichte (ab 5 Jahren). The app is free. The route starts in the center of Zurich near the main train station and is laid out so as not to bore children. Along the route, you will see many interesting places, and with younger children, you will appreciate the playgrounds (Josefwiese, near the Sihlfeld school or Kanzleiwiese).

Our personal experience with myclimate Audio Adventure

Hand on heart: who among you, when visiting Zurich, gets outside the triangle defined by Bahnhofstrasse, Bürkliplatz and Münstergasse? Myclimate Audio Adventure Zurich is therefore a great way to motivate not only children but also yourself to explore the city and its previously hidden corners.

For example, I didn’t know until now that in Zurich you can swim in the river in Flussbad Oberer Letten (see photo above left), that you can walk across the Letten Viaduct, that Josefwiese is a city park with a large playground and a great place for a picnic, that Sihlfeld is a cozy neighborhood where it’s alive even on Sunday mornings. Of course, at the end of the tour, you get to see famous places like St. Peter’s Church and the Niederdorfstrasse and Limmatquai.

Practical tip for parents

I recommend bringing headphones, as the places you’ll be walking through are relatively noisy, and you might not hear the story well. If only children have headphones, I recommend listening to the whole story beforehand to know what will be discussed. The story is told in German or English.

Summary

Myclimate Audio Adventure is not a boring lecture—it’s pure action, movement, and discovery! Download the route and let me know how you liked it—I’d love for you to share your experience!
