DIY: Cute snowmen on ski

Originally this post had been titled “Christmas crafts for kids,” but when I started making these cute snowmen, I realized that it was not an entirely suitable activity for very small kids. Dute to the fact that the process involves working with the glue gun. But at some steps you´d certainly need small children’s fingers to help you 🙂 So let’s see how to do these cute snowmen …

Supplies

  • cotton balls (3 sizes: 12, 20 & 30 mm)
  • colored craft sticks (or popsicle sticks)
  • yarn
  • cardboard (or toilet paper roll)
  • piece of orange paper
  • hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • black permanent marker
  • scissors, knife, sellotape
  • toothpicks, sisal fiber

Step 1

First, prepare clothing accessories for the snowman 🙂 “Knitting” the scarf is very simple (like a plait), but making the cap gives little work. I had to “consult” Pinterest how to do it. And here is the moment when your kid’s fingers can help.
Make a ring of cardboard, which has a circumference of a snowman’s head (glue together with duct tape). Then thread the pieces of yarn around the circumference. At the end, we pull the yarn together, tie it up and cut so as to form a bobble.

Step 2

Use the hot glue gun to glue the snowman parts to each other: first, the head and body, hands afterward. These small balls have already small holes poised to pulling snowman’s broom, so be sure to stick the ball so that the hole is on top. Cut popsicle sticks in two equal halves and glue them under the snowman.
Glue hat and scarf. Cut out a semi-circle from the orange paper, then roll it up into the funnel (create a carrot as a snowman´s nose) and glue on the head. Draw the eyes and mouth with a marker (just the dots like pieces of coal).

Step 3

Sisal fiber Cut to 3cm long, thin strips and tie a piece of thread on a toothpick. For sure we stick Bottom fiber fusing gun. Pass the toothpick through the hole in the snowman’s arms and hooray – you have your snowman!
